DDG says he wants to grow his family, but there’s a catch.
In a new video shared to his YouTube channel on Tuesday, the 27-year-old YouTuber turned rapper responded to fan questions while spending time with his 11-month-old son, Halo, whom he shares with Halle Bailey, 24.
At the 31:33 mark, DDG explained that he does want another child but only if it’s within the next few years so his children can be close in age and grow up together, similar to the sibling bond he experienced in his own family.
“Yes, I do want to have another kid. But I will say this, I don’t want to have another kid too far away,” DDG said in the video. “I don’t want Halo to be 10 and his little brother is one, you feel me? I feel like that defeats the entire purpose of having another kid.”
“If I don’t have another kid within the next four years, I’m cool with just having Halo,” he added.
DDG, who announced that he and Bailey called it quits last month, also mentioned that he’s not interested in having children with multiple partners.
“One thing that I do not want to do is to have ‘baby mamas’ or whatever y’all like to call it,” DDG explained. “If I was to have another kid, it definitely would be with the same person. I don’t want to have kids with multiple people. I feel like that’s just too much.”
“I’m perfectly fine with Halo. I can live the rest of my life with just Halo as my son. I don’t need to have another kid, but I wouldn’t mind having like a daughter or something,” he said further into the video. “I think that would just be dope, you know, but I want him to be able to kick it with his sibling.”
Earlier this week, photos of DDG hanging out with Baddies star Ahna Mac circulated online, leading fans to believe that the two might be dating.
When asked if he has “moved on” and if he’s “ready to date again,” DDG said, “No, I’m not dating. I haven’t like ‘moved on,’ whatever that mean in y’all sense. I’m just really focused on work. That’s what I be trying to explain to y’all.”
He continued, “This week I probably linked with three girls, right? For work purposes, you feel me? And I go on TikTok and I see y’all making edits like I’m dating this girl. It’s like, damn, y’all don’t even know I’m just working, bro.”
“I know people be weird with me on the internet and how big and how popular my relationship was, or is, or whatever. Y’all kinda group me with a bunch of folks and I want y’all to know I’m just working. That’s really all I’m doing.”
He also asked fans not to “ship” him with others, as he’s dedicating his focus to his music and personal growth.
“Don’t ship me with nobody because I don’t plan on dating. I don’t see the point anymore,” he said.
