Feel that crisp breeze in the air? That means the rumours are true: It’s officially fall, and that means it’s also UGG season.
Last Thursday, September 18, as the sun finally set on a scorching New York City summer, Southern California-based shoe brand UGG celebrated the changing of the seasons with a star-studded event in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Hosted by Mariah the Scientist, the party brought together friends of the brand, local creatives and even some familiar faces – including Ella Emhoff, Evan Mock, JT, Tessa Thompson, Hari Nef and Julez Smith – for a night dedicated to slippers, clogs and sheepskin ballet flats.
Naturally, odes to the brand’s aesthetic were everywhere. Guests wore fur-trimmed UGG ballet flats, the tables held bursting floral arrangements that used literal boots as vases and host Marah the Scientist herself donned a custom UGG-inspired look.
Below, we break down everything that happened at the extremely fuzzy party.

Now what’s an UGG party without loads of fuzziness? Under the glow of an illuminated UGG sign, guests posed on a furry red carpet, most of them decked out in shoes from the brand. The DJ booth, expertly manned by DJ Honey, was draped in a shaggy white veil, while the inside of an Instagram-ready photo booth was lined with a teddy bear-like interior.

UGG won over fans of all things dainty and whimsical with a charm bar, which held trays of glistening trinkets. And for the bag accessories fans, a wall of furry heart-shaped keychains was also among the treasures up for grabs.

In true hostess with the mostess fashion, Mariah the Scientist, dressed in a cropped jacket and fur-trimmed micro shorts, kept the vibes right. Right off the heels of her recent tour announcement and Jimmy Fallon performance, the R&B artist gave a live performance, singing hits like “Spread Thin” and “Burning Blue” as delighted die-hard fans sang along.

Though there were no pumpkin spice lattes in sight, UGG renditions of classic cocktails were on the menu. “UGG-Tinis” were served in place of espresso martinis, while a “Classic UGG Fashioned” took the place of the traditional bourbon-based drink.
