If you find yourself ambling through Soho anytime soon, you’d probably run into a fair few Instagram photoshoots, microphones at the ready to film snappable TikToks, and a whole lot of cult-favourite fashion garms. But, cast your eyes to prior decades, and Soho’s cobbled streets were bursting with a whiff of London’s vibrant counterculture, which Sean Mcgirr took as his stimulus for Alexander McQueen’s AW25 pre-collection. The campaign, which Theo Sion captured at The Coach & Horses – one of Soho’s most historical pubs, from the 1950s – echoes the creative air which once walked along its streets. Tailored jackets confronted with feathered trims, ruffled blouses protruding from heritage tartan blazers, and satin lingerie-inspired dresses, are all placed centrestage, embodying the trailblazing narratives left hidden in Soho’s nooks and crannies.
