Each week, Wonderland’s Online Editor, Sofia Ferreira, serves up the internet’s best pop culture dives, TikTok obsessions, and jaw-dropping antics — so you don’t have to.
People who say summer is a busy season have never experienced the chaos of late October and early November. Every year, it catches me by surprise — the spookiness of Halloween taking over our diaries, mingling with the first signs of the holiday season, Mariah Carey slowly starting to defrost, friends scrambling to catch up before winter blues set in, single souls realising they might have spent too much time hot-girl-summering as cuffing season rolls around, and leftover annual leave days finally being put to use.
It feels like life is suddenly at 10x speed. And so is our algorithm. But worry not: I’m chronically online, so you don’t have to be. If you’re keen to stay in the loop, here’s a roundup of the trends, talks, and tunes that have kept me glued to my feed (way too many times) while trying to dodge my inbox in the past week. 2025: The year of AMAZING festival lineups
I’m confident to say we’re not ready for what’s in store on the festival front in 2025. From London to Barcelona, recent weeks have been marked by joint internet hysteria following some of the most iconic lineup announcements in years. Barcelona’s Primavera Sound is coming in hot for the pop-star-studded event of the year, with chart-toppers Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Charli XCX headlining the two-weekend celebration.
On British soil, festival fever is high too. Victoria Park’s beloved All Points East announced Scottish DJ and producer Barry Can’t Swim as its first headliner, with London icon Raye closing Saturday’s lineup. Up-and-coming Field Day is relocating from East to South London’s Brockwell Park, with Peggy Gou headlining. Wide Awake is bringing Irish breakthrough group Kneecap to the main stage, alongside CMAT and English Teacher, while Cross The Tracks announced Michael Kiwanuka and Jordan Rakei as the day’s biggest acts. Our diaries are locked!
Slutty Cheff is launching a book!
It was only a matter of time… Slutty Cheff has finally announced her debut book. If you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know what we are talking about, do yourself a favour and check out this anonymous chef-turned-writer’s Instagram page. Now a Vogue columnist and soon-to-be published author, she’s been taking the internet by storm since early 2023 with her British sarcasm-laced, graphic, and tender tales about food and sex. Tart: Misadventures of an Anonymous Chef will be published by Bloomsbury Lifestyle on 17 July 2025, the title reportedly won in an 11-way auction.
But even more impressive is the lineup of heavyweights Slutty Cheff had on speed dial for the book’s announcement video — narrated by none other than writer Lena Dunham and UK rap legend Casisdead. “I devoured this book like a ravenous customer and love it wildly,” says Dunham. “Visceral, hedonistic, and gutsy,” adds Everything I Know About Love author Dolly Alderton. Simply two of the women I trust most — you’ll find me queuing for that pre-sale, and you should too.
Gracie Abrams’ “That’s So True” supremacy
@alexraquelvargas THATS MY LIFE THATS MY LIFE #gracieabrams #thatssotrue #erastour #nola #fyp That’s So True – Gracie Abrams
2024 has been the year of the pop girlies — and Gracie Abrams is right there for it. After two years supporting Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift on tour, the LA-born rising star has been connecting with audiences through her introspective, love-laden music. Now, Abrams is stepping out of the supporting-act role and soaring solo. Her single “That’s So True,” from the deluxe version of her sophomore album, The Secret of Us, just became her first track to reach number 1 on the UK charts — and when I say it’s going viral on TikTok, you can’t imagine the extent. Singalongs, covers, trends… every other video on my For You page this week has Gracie Abrams as the soundtrack, making it one of the top ten most-used audios on the platform right now. I believe in Gracie Abrams supremacy!

I really can’t explain why, but TikTok has an ongoing obsession with candy. It started with Swedish candy, as influencers’ videos of sampling the Scandinavian treats went viral, causing sales to skyrocket and the product to disappear from shelves. Then, freeze-dried candy, ASMR lovers’ favourite, took over. And now, TikTok can’t get enough of so-called wax candies. I get it — who doesn’t love a sweet treat? But unlike its predecessors, wax candy isn’t even meant to be fully swallowed; it’s made of beeswax and filled with a jelly that bursts in your mouth as you chew the hard, waxy shell before spitting it out. Kinda weird? The most popular brand selling these is called Ooodles Space, offering a “newbie trying box” for $21. But don’t bother trying to buy it — it’s obviously sold out.
Charli XCX
Thank God, Charli XCX isn’t going anywhere. With brat Summer forever etched in pop culture history and the unending love for her Sweat Tour, Charli remains one of 2024’s most influential names — and she’s only getting started. Following her successful H&M collaboration this summer, the pop icon is now shifting gears and reasserting her place among the cool crowd as the new face of Acne Studios. We should’ve seen this coming — who could forget the iconic custom Acne pieces Charli and Troye Sivan wore on the opening night of the Sweat Tour? With the collab, she joins the ranks of A-listers like Kylie Jenner, Willow Smith, and K-pop sensation ILLIT, the campaign shot in Los Angeles by the brand’s longtime collaborator, Talia Chetrit.
