Burberry is marking its 170th anniversary with an exhibition dedicated to its most popular item: the trench coat. From September until January 2027, London’s Victoria & Albert museum will host a free public display charting the coat’s history and spotlighting 19 standout runway moments.

Alongside Mary Quant’s mini skirts and McQueen’s bumsters, the trench is one of British fashion’s most famous silhouettes. And for good reason. Its name comes from the actual trenches, designed by founder Thomas Burberry for British soldiers during WWI. The exhibition takes us from 1879 up to the present day, marking the evolution of the trench with each creative director, from the brand’s founder to Christopher Bailey and Daniel Lee

Elsewhere in fashion this week, we met Monamobile, the Berlin brand making wearable tech sexy. We sat down with celebrated photographer Jackie Nickerson to chat about her latest book, and rounded up all the hottest fashion collabs from July. Here’s everything else you missed…

The British Fashion Council is taking London Fashion Week beyond the capital. Earlier this week it launched a new initiative, Fashion Britain, with the hopes of decentralising British fashion by extending investment, opportunity and cultural participation. “If we are truly Britain’s fashion council, then our responsibility is to champion creativity wherever it exists, create opportunity, inspire ambition and ensure more people can see themselves in our industry, regardless of where they live,” says Laura Weir, the BFC’s chief executive.

Berlin-based, Ghanaian-British brand Palmwine Icecream has revealed its SS27 collection. Titled NUBA: Between the Body and the Sacred, the collection pays tribute to the Nuba people of Sudan. “For generations, the Nuba have expressed identity through ash, clay, pigment, hand-painted patterns, and jewellery, transforming the human body into a living canvas,” explains designer Kusi Kubi. After abruptly checking out of the White Lotus hotel last year, Walton Goggins is finally ready to take another trip. This time Rimowa has helped the actor pack his case, as Goggins becomes the latest face of the brand. Surprisingly, you won’t find any speedos inside, just a dartboard instead – perfect! See here

Louis Vuitton menswear has launched its latest style of trainer, the LV Drop 300, as debuted earlier this year during the AW26 show. Its name comes from the shoe’s impressive lightness, weighing just 300 grams each, making the style an instant activewear must-have. See here

Romeo Beckham touched down in New York City earlier this week as the face of Tommy Hilfiger’s latest campaign. The new Always Denim photoshoot sees Romeo and friends take over The Mark hotel, captured mostly on polaroid. See here.

Did you know that the New Balance factory is based in the Lake District? We didn’t either, until earlier this week when the trainer company opened a very special, secret garden for its factory workers, designed in collaboration with jewellery brand Bleue Burnham.

Palm Angels is Ibiza-obsessed. After taking over Hï Ibiza for a second year earlier this summer, the Milan-based brand now has set its sights on the Pomelo Playa beach club. As well as branded loungers and umbrellas, the entire beach club team will be dressed in Palm Angels uniforms. Proving once again, that this brand can’t get enough of the Spanish party island.
