Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of the hit Netflix show Squid Game, has just admitted that he’s over all the hype around the show.
In an interview with Variety, Dong-hyuk opened up about the show’s massive success in 2021 and how it became a business empire for the streaming giant. Squid Game’s second season will premiere on Dec. 26, and fans can’t get enough of the series. So I’m not thinking about my next project right now. I’m just thinking about going to some remote island and having my own free time without any phone calls from Netflix…Not the ‘Squid Game’ island.”
This isn’t the first time Dong-hyuk has expressed his grievances over the show. In a recent interview with Jean Mackenzie for BBC, Dong-hyuk revealed the stress from season one caused about “eight or nine” of his teeth to fall out of his mouth during production of the show.
