Hit mobile game Brawl Stars has launched its latest collaboration to bring Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story to the game’s theme park world this holiday season, featuring a first-of-its-kind playable character, new skins, game modes, an in-game Pizza Planet Arcade, and more.

Running for a limited time (December 12 to February 5), the nostalgic in-game event represents the latest step in the much-loved game’s evolution to gaming greatness. First released in 2018 by Finnish developers Supercell (of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale fame), it is now one of the most popular mobile games on the planet.

Set in Starr Park, an abandoned amusement park, Brawl Stars is an eye-popping, cartoony sugar rush of shooting-n-brawling with a roster of lovable characters (aka Brawlers), game modes and accessories (aka Cosmetics).

Brawl Stars is now the fastest growing mobile game out there, in part due to a series of collabs with high-profile entertainment characters and an extremely strong social game (Brawl Talks videos rack up many millions of views on the Brawl Stars YouTube).

Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story takeover of the mobile game is the most ambitious crossover yet, and will see Buzz Lightyear become the first-ever playable character from outside the Brawl Stars universe. In true Brawl Stars style, there will be more than one way to brawl with Buzz, with the three battle modes—laser, wing and saber—playing homage to the legendary Space Ranger’s iconic movie moments. Three much-loved characters from the Brawl Stars roster will also get a Toy Story-themed makeover, with Colt, Jessie and Bibi getting new skins to become Woody Colt, Jessie Jessie and Bibi Bo Peep.

These will all be in place from the start of the collab, then on January 2, Starr Park will also get a new pop-up: the Pizza Planet Arcade, inspired by the iconic Pizza Planet Arcade from the Toy Story movies. There will be three new temporary gameplay modes and players will be challenged to collect Pizza Slices which can be exchanged for Toy Story-themed cosmetics or to unlock a totally new Brawler.

After the takeover has finished (from February 6 onwards), a Buzz Lightyear-inspired skin for Surge will be available in the game, so the positive animation collaboration vibes can live on—no doubt to infinity and beyond…

Brawl Stars is available for download on both iOS and Android devices worldwide. For more information, head here.
