Without naming anyone specific, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie dished on their past relationships in a new episode of Call Her Daddy.
The longtime friends were interviewed by host Alex Cooper to promote their new Peacock three-part special Paris & Nicole: The Encore, but made time to talk about their exes and being victims of infidelity.
As seen in the clip below, Hilton admitted to having the ‘worst dating history,’ while Richie confessed to being ‘delusional’ over men when the two were younger. Hilton has been married to entrepreneur and venture capitalist Carter Reum since 2021, while Richie celebrated her 14th marriage anniversary to Joel Madden this year.
“My first real boyfriend’s AOL name was ‘Playa4Life,’ and I was devastated and shocked to my core when he cheated on me,” Richie said. “I couldn’t believe it. I was like, Where were the signs?“
The fashion designer added that he once cheated on Disneyland ride Peter Pan’s Flight, while another woman contacted Richie directly.
“So I had like heard about it I asked him, he obviously said no. And then one of the girls was really nice and got on the phone with me and told me. And she was like, ‘He said that you guys were broken up. I’m so sorry.'”
The confession came around the time when conference calls were popular, so the women devised a plan to get the ‘Playa’ to admit to cheating. “I moved on but I was really shook. I was like, ‘I cannot believe got cheated [on].’ Getting cheated on sucks. … It’s horrible.”
Hilton discovered that she had been cheated on in a more public way, through TMZ. “It obviously hurts, but also just like mad. Just like, ‘How could you humiliate me like this?'”
In another instance of being two-timed, Richie ran into a woman that her then-partner was cheating with at a party and was hyped up by friends before confronting her. “I like walked up to her–Idon’t even know what I thought I was going to do–and her friend literally just went like this,” Richie said before making a shooing gesture. “And I across flew across the party. I didn’t have a chance.”
Now with husbands and their own children in adulthood, Hilton and Richie aren’t facing dating drama like they did in the past. The two previously talked about their dating life being made into a spectacle during the height of their careers in the 2000s.
“There would be a lot of nights I’d cry and I’d call my mom. I’d be like, ‘This is not even true,'” Hilton told Glamour when asked about “vile stuff” the women read about themselves.
“But it also made me so strong where after a while I just realized these are people who don’t even know me, they’re just making stories up,” she continued. “The people who love and know me know the truth. And you just have to try to ignore it. So that’s why I feel the girls today are so lucky that that doesn’t happen anymore. It’s very, very traumatizing to have to live through.”
