America’s Thanksgiving might be over, but “books giving” is only just getting started here in the UK! This Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15, join sustainable jewellery and ceramics brand Completedworks for an exclusive, ticket-only event hosted alongside LA-based book community Seen Library. Taking over Completedwork’s London showroom – nestled above a former pub on the outskirts of London’s Marylebone – the pop-up invites literature lovers to choose from a curated selection of must-read tomes over some light bites, bevvies and friendly conversations.

Thematically pivoting around the concept of ‘Close Encounters’, each read centres “key interactions or experiences that have a deep impact on the characters and the narrative, often involving meaningful moments of connection or confrontation.” Meanwhile every book will come wrapped up in Seen Library’s signature “creamy” paper, obscuring the front cover but revealing the soul. Decorated exclusively with a library card of hand-written clues, guests won’t be judging these books by their covers – they’ll be making their selections based on intrigue alone.

In its journey from from the Big Apple to the Big Smoke, Seen Library is hitting the road with a tour of these unique, intimate events by way of book exchanges, drives and pop-ups, so don’t miss your chance to take part. To secure your tickets, email seenlibrary@gmail.com and then pop into the “books giving” for great reads, good drinks and fresh book worm friends.
