Manolo Blahnik celebrates 30 years of the Mary Jane shoe

Manolo Blahnik is raising a glass this year, celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Mary Jane pump. In honour of the occasion, the shoemaker has released an adorable, limited-edition version of the classic kick called the Mary Jane Pearl.

With limited qualities available, the new Mary Jane is available exclusively on Manolo Blahnik’s website, and at its boutiques in London, New York, Paris, Hong Kong and China. Shop here. ‘Present/Non Present Bodies’ Exhibition at Night Cafe

If a tree falls and no one hears it, did it really fall? If an artist creates something, but they’re not there anymore, is it really art? This is the premise of Night Café’s new Present/Non Present Bodies exhibition, curated by Sophie Barrett-Pouleau and featuring the work of rising art world darlings, Romane Courdacher, Emily Fielding and Julia Mazur. All three artists are presenting work that interrogates what it means for the materiality of a performance once the performer is removed – expect Fielding’s ritualistic archiving performance, Courdacher’s collection of found objects representing a multiplicity of queer identities and Mazur cramming three people into a tire-like wearable object. The point? To show what remains after these displays are over; to question if a live performance ever really stops.

The exhibition opens November 26 at Night Café, and there will be free performances on December 7 and January 17. Discover more here. JB

Dior’s New Watch Is The Bee’s Knees

The sound of chamber music breaks across the horizon in a world both miniature and magical. The clock strikes midnight, and it’s time for a party: jewel-incrusted bees and dragonflies, bedazzled grasshoppers and ladybugs waltz atop the face of a watch, circling in a synchronised rhythm around an ornamental stone dial. This is the concept behind Dior’s latest horological offering, The Dior Grand Bal Histoire Naturelle – a watch collection that nods to the Théâtre de Verdure dress, which Monsieur Dior himself embroidered with brightly coloured insects in 1951. Burberry embraces British weather

We all know the feeling of checking the weather forecast before leaving the house, ready to show off your finest outfit, only for a sudden shower of rain to drench you head-to-toe – typical. The quintessential British weather that we all unanimously groan over, has become the muse of Burberry’s latest campaign: It’s Always Burberry Weather. Inspired by Burberry’s affinity for outerwear, the label is embracing all types of weather, extending the campaign to a series of global pop-up stores. Taking shape as the centrepiece of the experiential pop-ups lies a recreation of a park pavilion – bringing the outdoors inside – and if you want even more Brit-culture you can nibble on a flapjack or mull over the collections with a good ol’ Earl Grey Tea. Angelina Jolie Fronts Tom Ford Lipstick Campaign

Lucky for us all three come together in a new campaign for the luxury house’s Runway Lip Colour, which showcases Jolie’s almost otherworldly magnetism in her signature shade, 16 Scarlet Rogue. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, and accompanied by a sultry soft rock track, the thirty second video is a cinematic ode to femininity and its power. It is a portrait of a woman who loves the camera. A camera – and it goes without saying – that loves her too. JB

Onitsuka collaborates with Patou

In a new collab between the heritage brands, Onitsuka’s staples are re-imagined in Patou’s design language – expect a revamped Mexico 66 model with the house’s signature grosgrain, an updated Mexico Rinkan with dashes of pink and a sporty-chic Mexico 66 Ballerina slipper. To celebrate this fusion of cultures, Onitsuka is hosting an immersive ‘sleepover’ at its Regent Street flagship, where guests are welcomed into the home of two imaginary teenagers: one from Japan, the other from France. Experience the sleepover from November 20 to December 22 and check out the collab collection here.
