We’ve come a long way since Barter 16, or Luv Is Rage 3 for that matter. While neither project has been given an official release, both represent distinct points in Lil Uzi Vert’s post-Eternal Atake timeline. And ultimately, both have helped lead us here, standing on the precipice of a new journey in the Eternal Atake universe.
The shrewdly timed sequel, Eternal Atake 2, arrives mere days after Uzi first kicked down the doors to this new era with the release of a short video directed by original EA collaborator Gibson Hazard. In it, Uzi is said to have “mysteriously vanished” in 2020, with their subsequent space journey interpreted by followers as “the fulfillment of a long-awaited prophecy.” As with the first EA, Uzi is again taking at least some inspiration from Heaven’s Gate, the religious group headed by the late Do and Ti.

Pink Tape, Uzi’s most recent full-length, arrived last June and saw the Philly-born Grammy nominee recruiting everyone from Nicki Minaj to Bring Me the Horizon for a genres-spanning album that became their third No. 1 on the Billboard 200. At one point, the aforementioned Luv Is Rage 3 was being discussed as a potential final release from Uzi, though such talk isn’t exactly a rare occurrence in the Uziverse.
“I came to this conclusion not too long ago,” Uzi told fans at a show just over a year ago. “I was gonna wait ’til later to say it but, you know, I’m dropping Luv Is Rage 3 and Luv Is Rage 3 will be my last album.”
Thankfully, Uzi has since reconsidered their stance, thus bringing us all to Eternal Atake 2‘s proverbial doorstep.
