Swizz Beatz brought family along to celebrate the 18th birthday and NYU acceptance of his second oldest son, Kasseem Dean Jr.
On Sunday (December 22), the music producer posted an Instagram carousel recapping the yacht party thrown for Kasseem, where his son’s mother, Mashonda, and wife, Alicia Keys, were in attendance. The first video showed Kasseem entering the room to greet his family, all of whom held New York University sweatshirts to confirm that he’d been accepted at the institution. After jumping in celebration of the news, Kaseem embraced his father, stepmother and his mother. Also present were Kaseem’s half-siblings Egypt, 14, and 9-year-old Genesis.
“This couldn’t have been any better. No party beats this,” Kareem said in an accompanying reel. “I’m beyond grateful for everything. Hard work really does pay off.”
Along with Swizz’s post, Mashonda made her own Instagram carousel dedicated to her only child, with footage from the party and a childhood photo of Kaseem. “18 years have passed, and my excitement for you remains as strong as ever,” she captioned the post. “It has been a true pleasure to witness your growth and transformation into a remarkable young man.”
In a separate post, Keys called Kaseem her “amazing young king.” She continued, “You are totally unstoppable!! I’m so excited about every moment this year is going to bring!! This is just the beginning of things you can’t even imagine!”
In 2010, Swizz was named a Producer in Residence at the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
