Covering Wonderland’s Winter 24 issue, the Californian actor and face of the latest Tommy Hilfiger campaign connects with his fiancée, model Abby Champion, to discuss the pending excitement surrounding The White Lotus’ release, the Schwarzenegger traditions they hope live on forever and reminisce on the last decade, whilst predicting what the next will bring.
“Did you have your first sip [of coffee]?” teases Patrick Schwarzenegger’s fiancée, model Abby Champion, her tone laced with a touch of genuine concern. “It isn’t cold brew, but it is good,” the 31-year-old actor chuckles, savouring his much-needed caffeine hit on the set of his Wonderland cover shoot. The pair are connecting over Zoom in the early hours, trading playful jabs and—not to be cliché—predicting each other’s responses with ease. Their conversation flows naturally, as if they’re catching up after weeks apart. For context, they had been together just an hour earlier, with Patrick presenting Abby her breakfast before heading off.
It’s no surprise the pair’s minds seem intrinsically linked—they’ve been through quite a lot together. Meeting on the cusp of adulthood, Patrick welcomed his then-girlfriend into his iconic Hollywood family, led by movie legend Arnold Schwarzenegger and acclaimed author Maria Shriver. With Abby by his side, Patrick set his sights on achieving his lifelong dream: cementing his name among Hollywood’s greats. What began as a series of small roles in major projects—including Ryan Murphy’s 2015 Scream Queens, a murderous mean-girl series, and Adam Sandler’s 2013 comedy Grown Ups 2—culminated in Patrick stepping into leading roles. He starred opposite Bella Thorne in the heartfelt romance Midnight Sun as the charming love interest and later stirred trouble as Mitchell Wilson, the bullish high school antagonist in Moxie.
It’s an upward trajectory that has continued well into 2024. Ryan Murphy rang Patrick this year, nearly a decade after their first collaboration, to cast him as celebrated footballer Tim Tebow in American Sports Story. The series, based on true events, delves into the harrowing homicide committed by Aaron Hernandez and his subsequent suicide, which sent shockwaves through the sporting world and beyond.
As if that weren’t enough, Patrick has spent a significant portion of the year on the pearly white sands of Southeast Asia, filming his starring role in the hotly anticipated third season of The White Lotus. The 15-time Emmy winner is set to return in early 2025, taking viewers on a hilarious yet haunting journey through Thailand.
When he’s not busy tearing up the screen, Patrick and his mother are flying the flag for Alzheimer’s awareness via their brain health brand MOSH, nurturing his mind and body now a cornerstone of his daily routine. He even makes time to swap the boardroom for bustling photoshoots on occasion—most recently on a joint campaign with Abby for Tommy Hilfiger’s Fall 24 campaign.
We’ll give you a minute to catch your breath—it’s been quite the whirlwind. Sitting down to pick Patrick’s brain, the pair chat about the pending excitement surrounding The White Lotus’ release, the Schwarzenegger traditions they hope live on forever and reminisce on the last decade, whilst predicting what the next will bring.
Abby Champion: Hello, Patricia.
Patrick Schwarzenegger: What’s up?
AC: Are you ready to start?
PS: Let’s do it. Ask away.
AC: So the first question we have for you, Patrick, is what is your earliest memory?
PS: Oh wow, you’re starting off with a tough question before I’ve had a coffee.
AC: Would you like me to start with something easier for you? I’m more than happy to do that.
PS: Is this the earliest memory of us, or just my earliest memory in life?
AC: In life!
PS: Gosh, I can’t remember.
AC: We want to know all about you.
PS: I don’t know, next question.
AC: You’re not allowed to skip like that, so let’s keep that in mind for future questions. Alright, well this one’s a good one. What is the most rebellious thing you did as a teenager? I know you did a lot so spill the beans. If you don’t name any, I’m gonna name some.
PS: You didn’t know me when I was a teenager.
AC: Yeah, but I’ve heard stories.
PS: I think it was probably just being a punk skateboarder. I can’t remember the most rebellious thing I did. Maybe missing my curfew or sneaking out of the house when I was a young one.
