Jay-Z has released a statement regarding a lawsuit that accused him of raping a 13-year-old girl with Diddy in 2000. Jay vehemently denied the allegation, which he called “heinous.”
Elsewhere in his statement, which was posted on social media, Jay wrote that he’s “more than prepared to deal” with the allegation and called lawyer Tony Buzbee a “deplorable human.”

“My only heartbreak is for my family,” Jay wrote. “My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people.”
He also wrote about the alleged victim. “Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?” he added. “These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”
Ebro Darden tweeted that Jay wrote his statement on his phone and wanted to speak for himself.
Legal affairs journalist Meghann Cuniff also tweeted that Roc Nation’s Quinn Emanuel sued Buzbee on behalf of Jay last month, where he said Buzbee’s tactics “are unethical and extortionate, and today they seek to hold him accountable for his illegal behavior.”
NBC News first reported the lawsuit in which the accuser claimed she was raped by both men at an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The accuser filed her lawsuit back in October and only named Diddy, but Buzbee filed an amended complaint to include Jay as a defendant in the refiling.
The lawsuit alleged the woman was dropped off at the VMAs that year in Radio City Music Hall. She didn’t have a ticket to get in, so she tried getting access by approaching several limousine drivers and found one that allegedly worked for Diddy.
The driver told the girl that she “fit what Diddy was looking for” and took her to the party, where she allegedly had to sign a document she figured was a non-disclosure agreement.
As the party went on, she was given a drink that made her “woozy, lightheaded and felt like [like] she needed to lie down” and went into a room to gather herself, according to the lawsuit. Jay and Diddy then entered the room, with the latter stating, “You are ready to party!”
The Brooklyn rap legend allegedly took her clothes off and held her down to have sex while Diddy and another unidentified female celebrity watched. The woman also claimed that Diddy also raped her while Jay and the woman kept watching what was taking place.
Diddy has denied all accusations that have been levied against him over the last several months. In September, Diddy was criminally charged with racketeering, sex trafficking, and more and is sitting in jail at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. He will be going to trial on May 5.
