My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar has died at 44 years old.
TMZ reports that the drummer was found dead in his home in Tennessee after being last seen alive on Nov. 4.
Though the medical examiner is currently investigating a cause and manner for Bryar’s death, no foul play is suspected because all of the musician’s music equipment and weapons were left untouched.
His body was reportedly badly decomposed, and he left behind two dogs at the house, which animal control came to take remove upon discovery.
Bryar met the members of My Chemical Romance while touring as a sound engineer for The Used in 2004. He would go on to replace My Chemical Romance’s drummer Matt Pelissier after the band released their second album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.
He would go on to be featured on My Chemical Romance’s last two albums, The Black Parade in 2006 and Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys in 2010, plus their compilation LP Conventional Weapons that came out in 2013.
Bryar left the group in 2010, three years before it disbanded. At the time that he left, he announced that he was transitioning into the real estate industry from the world of music.
“I’m permanently closing the book on my drumming days. I have too many wrist issues, I’m too old, too fat, and it’s time for something new,” he wrote on Twitter (now X) at the time.
