Conor McGregor’s longtime partner, Dee Devlin, has spoken out against his sexual assault accuser.
Last week, a civil court in Ireland awarded 250,000 Euros (or $257,000) to Nikita Hand, who accused the 36-year-old MMA fighter of raping and assaulting her in a Dublin hotel penthouse in Dec. 2018, according to the Associated Press.
In a series of Instagram Story posts, Devlin, 37, accused Hand of lying and inappropriate behavior, claiming she sent provocative messages and pictures to McGregor in 2018, despite knowing he was in a committed relationship.
“Imagine a WOMAN, with her own boyfriend and child, texting provocative pictures of herself to another woman’s man with a family and child on the way,” Devlin wrote on Tuesday.
“This woman claims to know me, yet still went ahead and sent messages and pictures of herself over and over to my man? Really?” she added. “Whilst out on a 3 day bender, texting excuses to her own child at home where mammy is on Saturday afternoon, Saturday night, Sunday morning, Sunday afternoon, Sunday night into Monday morning. All the while out of her face in a hotel room, dancing around a hotel carpark. What sort of WOMAN are you!!!”
“My sons will be warned women like you exist in the world,” she continued.
Devlin also stated that surveillance footage contradicted Hand’s claims, suggesting that she was the aggressor all along.
In a separate post shared to her main Instagram feed, Devlin defended McGregor and expressed her full support for him, writing, “My man and I have created a beautiful life together. I love him I trust him and I BELIEVE HIM! Our four beautiful children whose smiling faces and happy hearts are testimony to the man he is and who we are! No one is entitled to comment on our relationship- we trust one another and love one another Nothing or nobody will change that Our family stands strong!”
A jury found McGregor liable for assault after six hours of deliberation. Hand testified that the 2018 attack left her with severe bruising, PTSD, and lasting trauma, while McGregor denied the allegations, claiming their encounter was consensual.
Hand alleged that McGregor put her in a chokehold, threatened to kill her, and raped her, leaving her unable to work as a hairdresser, and in financial hardship after falling behind on her mortgage payments. A paramedic and doctor supported her claims of serious injuries.
Although police investigated, prosecutors did not pursue charges over insufficient evidence.
In a post shared to X on Monday, the fighter expressed remorse for stepping out on Devlin, claiming that the events were consensual while acknowledging mistakes on his part. He also announced his intention to appeal.
“I can’t go back and I will move forward. I am beyond grateful to my family, friends and supporters all over the world who have stayed by my side. That’s it. No more. Getting back to the gym- the fight game awaits!” he wrote.
According to People, McGregor and Devlin have been together since 2008, engaged since 2020, and share three children: Conor Jr., 7, daughter Croai, 5, and son Rian, 3.
