T.I. has given his thoughts on being ranked in the top three of Complex‘s 50 Best Atlanta Rappers of All Time list.

On Friday, Tip stopped by ESPN’s First Take where he was asked about how he felt about being ranked No. 3 on Complex’s list. According to the Atlanta native, OutKast should have been at the top of the ranking of the best rappers out of the city, but he acknowledged the greats that came after, such as Future, Young Thug, Lil Baby, and 21 Savage. The veteran rapper also added that he’s just grateful to be mentioned amongst the greats, old and new.

“Nobody steps on OutKast’s toes when we talking any kind of list in Atlanta,” said Tip. “You go straight to OutKast first. I think Future has done phenomenal things for this generation. Young Thug has done phenomenal things for this generation. 21 Savage, Lil Baby. I’m just happy to be on the list and among people who have been the greatest and who are to be the greatest in this thing of ours.”

Complex put André 3000 and Future ahead of T.I. on the list. Rounding out the Top 10 are Gucci Mane, Jeezy, Young Thug, Ludacris, Big Boi, 2 Chainz, and Lil Baby. T.I.’s high ranking was due to him having “helped put trap music on the charts, while being one the best lyrical rappers to ever come from the A.”

T.I.’s chart and sales success played a major part in his spot on the list as he had 57 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including 11 top 10s and 4 No. 1s. Tip also had 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart, including 9 top 10s and 3 No. 1s and his albums have sold more than 10 million copies collectively.
