Each week, Wonderland’s Online Editor, Sofia Ferreira, serves up the internet’s best pop culture dives, TikTok obsessions, and jaw-dropping antics—so you don’t have to.
“There’s definitely something going around” was probably the most common sentence across my emails this week. Sharing with colleagues and industry peers that their message hadn’t, in fact, found me well—thanks to a nasty cough that has kept me bedbound for what feels like a lifetime—prompted near-universal replies confirming they were in the same boat. “It’s that time of year, isn’t it?” seemed to be the consensus. And while you didn’t ask, let me reassure you: if you’re also feeling like autumn’s punching bag, you’re not alone.
On a brighter note, the internet turned out to be an oddly delightful place to be this week. And so was Times Square. I know—sounds like I’ve finally lost it. But between Charli XCX stopping traffic in the Big Apple to prove Brat season isn’t over yet and that Paul Mescal puppy video, my flu-induced doom-scrolling suddenly feels less shameful. Market research, anyone? I’m chronically online, so you don’t have to be. Put the kettle on and keep reading…
So, Domingo’s the cute boy with the jacket and the accent?
A collab we didn’t know we needed: Sabrina Carpenter’s cheekiness meets Marcelo Hernandez Domingo’s sass. Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet tour has been the talk of the town since it kicked off earlier this autumn. A slew of celebs has turned up to support the pop star, and at each concert, she ropes in some for a hilarious scene before her hit “Juno,” arresting them for being “too hot” with a pair of fluffy pink handcuffs. Milly Bobby Brown was the chosen suspect in Atlanta, and last week, in California, Carpenter brought in SNL’s Domingo after his viral “Espresso” sketch took over TikTok. A match made in heaven, truly.
Charli XCX must be exhausted, but she keeps on giving…
What can’t Charli XCX do? Fresh from solo hosting SNL last Saturday, the English powerhouse took over Times Square for a surprise Brat gig in partnership with H&M this week. Teased just 30 minutes beforehand via social media and H&M’s New York stores, thousands of fans gathered at the TSX Stage at 1568 Broadway to see her perform Brat’s biggest bops. And of course, Charli’s cool crowd was in tow, with icons like Julia Fox, Irina Shayk, and Amelia Gray showing up to party. The sky—quite literally—is the limit for XCX.

2024 has been quite the year for Role Model. Between a North American tour with Gracie Abrams, the release of his second album, and a sold-out night at London’s O2 Brixton Academy, you’d think that’d be enough. But no. He’s also been campaigning for People’s Sexiest Musician Alive—unsuccessfully, as it happens.
“I heard about the counts — a lot of you voted for me. But I want to speak to those who voted for Harry Styles,” he declared on Instagram after Styles was crowned the winner. “I hope you’re happy,” he continued. “I hope your day is made from this because guess what? His publicist isn’t even going to mention this to him. He won’t know about this. That boy is in Fiji somewhere. That’s how insignificant this is to him. And to People Magazine: you had an opportunity to really do something for the culture. To create this beautiful ending to an underdog story, and you didn’t.”
Tucker, for what it’s worth, you have our vote. But no hard feelings, right? We’re grown-ups here. So, naturally, the best way to close this chapter and leave the dark, hurtful days behind was by covering Mr Styles’s Sign of the Times to a crowd of thousands in the musician’s hometown. There’s no place like Harry’s house, some might say. Do yourself a favour and give the Saint Laurent Cowboy’s TikTok page a follow — it’s all about community, and that’s what truly matters.
My Roman Empire? Paul Mescal’s press tour for Gladiator II.
Yes, the interviews have been great. What an incredible moment for Irish heartthrob Paul Mescal, who’s stepping into the big leagues of Hollywood blockbusters in Ridley Scott’s sequel to Gladiator, hitting the silver screen this week alongside industry heavyweights Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal. But what the internet is truly loving is the sheer amount of content Mescal has been serving up, going viral on TikTok almost daily over the past couple of weeks with his appearances on every hit TV show and YouTube series.
From crying over scorching wings with Sean Evans on Hot Ones to a cuteness overload surrounded by puppies in BuzzFeed’s hit interview series, there’s a sea of content waiting for Mescal fans. And fear not — the armour and swords haven’t dulled his Normal People softboi energy one bit. You’re in for a treat.

Something more exciting than watching Paul Mescal play with baby chocolate labradors? Girls exposing toxic men online! That’s exactly what thousands are doing on TikTok right now, as the hashtag “#WomenInMaleFields” (already used over nine million times) becomes a viral sensation. The trend is simple: women flip the script, comically sharing toxic behaviours they’ve encountered while dating men—pretending it was actually their move—all to the tune of Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda,” naturally.
“He sent me a paragraph of how he felt, and I replied with, ‘idk what you want me to say,’” one user posted. “When he explains exactly what I’ve done wrong, so I hit him with, ‘I’m sorry you feel that way,’” another shared. “When he asks what we are, and I take his hand and say, ‘Labels are overrated, let’s just enjoy what we have.’”
The comments, as expected, are a goldmine of entertainment—a sea of women sharing how painfully relatable the stories are, with many realising we might all be dating the same men. We laugh, not to cry.
