Dazed Club Spotlight is our monthly series showcasing up-and-coming talent from the Dazed creative community. If you’d like to be featured, download the app HERE and join our community. You just have to post your best project(s) and the Dazed team will take a look – we select one person from the community to spotlight per week, which then end up in our monthly spotlight roundup.

“I’m a fashion writer most of the time, but I’m also a lo-fi film fashion maker and photographer. I think work that draws on history or nostalgia and celebrates imperfections is way more interesting than anything too glossy and perfect. I love a concept and make sure I have my references in order before any shoot – everything from the colours used to the poses struck can carry meaning, so I want to make sure it’s all communicating exactly what I want it to. I work a lot with phone footage or my shitty old camcorders, as well as collaging and editing by hand.

“This shoot was actually some stills I took while I was filming a campaign film for my brand. Me and my sister Scarlet owned a small label called Monozygotics and I wanted to make sure I got some photos of each look… We took inspo from Eve and the ‘original sin’ of female disobedience – working in text, ‘Sin’ motifs, snakeskin and apple red. I wanted to play with the idea of doing things wrong on purpose, so I really warped the images and lowered the quality.

“I am also in the process of publishing a magazine. It’ll be printed and released in September and features some really amazing creatives. So keep your eyes peeled!”

“Both aesthetically and conceptually, I am working on building a sense of style that aims to articulate my point of view on life – both beautiful and bleak simultaneously. It’s never just a pretty picture with me.

“For our shoot Earth Sux, me and make-up artist Lindsay Kastuk wanted to create a shoot that had an essence of 90s club kid culture about it. I wanted the vibes to give polycule-on-the-way-home-from-a-club-night set in a not-so-far-away dystopian future, with a feeling as if there is a fourth person documenting the night a point-and-shoot. We worked on this alongside hair stylist Jack Oliver and stylist Hussy ElCeliemy with garments mostly by the stunning Adam Frost.”

“I’m an interdisciplinary artist with a focus on styling and creative direction, currently based in London. For me, my work is a powerful form of self-expression, a way to channel ideas, emotions, and narratives into something tangible.

In Our Jeans was a collaborative zine created with James Clark. We aimed to shed light on the staggering use of water and resources in the fashion industry. In my work, I strive to capture the essence of empowerment, urging others to break free from prejudice and self-doubt. I challenge viewers to look beyond the surface and embrace the profound beauty found in diversity. I draw inspiration from visionaries like Hugo Comte and have an affinity for collecting magazines like Dazed, which are constant sources of creative energy for me.

“When insomnia strikes, you’ll often find me cutting out images from scanned magazines, transforming my bedroom walls into a visual diary of my inspirations. I love creating mood boards, which are often the starting point of my creative process… allowing me to curate a visual language that brings my ideas to life.”

“This summer, I mainly saw a lot of street style – often drawing inspiration from the 90s and 00s, with the Y2K era as a separate aesthetic, ranging from the Juicy Couture and Mean Girls styles to the techno-grunge-dark aesthetic reminiscent of The Matrix. There was so much expression of identity and an evolving exploration of culture between the interlinking of music and fashion.

“[As a photographer] I’m usually drawn in by people’s character first and if they’re enjoying themselves. If they seem friendly and comfortable and the outfit says something about them or has an individuality to it, I find it makes for the best photo. I saw a lot of similar outfits worn by many people but the ones that stand out do because there’s a unique and personal perspective that tells a story when captured.”
